The origin of Ayurveda Ayurveda is a holistic system of healing which evolved
among the Brahmin sages of ancient India some 3000-5000 years
ago. There are several aspects of this system of medicine
which distinguish it from other approaches to health care:
1. It focuses on establishing and maintaining balance
of the life energies within us, rather than focusing on individual
symptoms.
2. It recognizes the unique constitutional differences
of all individuals and therefore recommends different regimens
for different types of people. Although two people may appear
to have the same outward symptoms, their energetic constitutions
may be very different and therefore call for very different
remedies.
3. Ayurveda is a complete medical system which recognizes
that ultimately all intelligence and wisdom flows from one
Absolute source (Paramatman). Health manifests by the grace
of the Absolute acting through the laws of Nature (Prakriti).
Ayurveda assists Nature by promoting harmony between the individual
and Nature by living a life of balance according to her laws.
4. Ayurveda describes three fundamental universal
energies which regulate all natural processes on both the
macrocosmic and microcosmic levels. That is, the same energies
which produce effects in the various galaxies and star systems
are operating at the level of the human physiology--in your
own physiology. These three universal energies are known as
the Tridosha.
5. Finally, the ancient Ayurvedic physicians realized the
need for preserving the alliance of the mind and body and
offers mankind tools for remembering and nurturing the subtler
aspects of our humanity. Ayurveda seeks to heal the fragmentation
and disorder of the mind-body complex and restore wholeness
and harmony to all people.
The Cures and its Contents
Generally, the cures offered by Aytour can be divided into
2 different sections:
Rejuvenation/Purification/Panchakarma/"Intensivkuren"/"Ayurveda-Kuren"
etc etc (names are related to publication of hotels, disregarding
the operators opinion). These cures obtain all elements being
relevant for successful ayurvedic treatments, such as the
initial consultation inclusive of the determination of dosha,
"Vata, Pitha, Kapha" , final consultation, weekly
consultation, daily medicine, food consultation, head massage,
facial massage, synchron massage (whole body), intensive Massage,
oil-herbal-rice-massage, oilstream-head-treatment, detox (Vashti,
Colon Irrigation), nose-cleaning, herbal inhalation, herbal
steam, herbal bath, flower bath, yoga & meditation, special
treatmenta incl acupuncture (Sri Lanka only). The approximate
length of treatments per day will be 2.5 - 4 hrs. "Vorsorge-Kuren",
Wellness- and Light-Cures will obtain more or less the same
treatments, however are only offered in particular resorts
and do not include Panchakarma (detox)-elements. Daily treatments
ll come up to 2-2.5 hrs.
It is essential that people being interested in ayurvedic
cures get rid of possible prejudices, especially concerning
cleanliness, hygienic circumstances and the predetermination
of the content of a cure.
Very much alike the western worlds medicine, an ayurvedic
doctor is examining the "patient", determinating
the "dosha" (more or less the physical state of
the guest) fixing the treatments going in line with the nutrition
and following the process and progress of the guest throughout
the cure. Whatever kind of treatment is necessary is part
of the cure and therefore paid. Its is - bearing ion mind
the different constitutions of potential guests - impossible
to say what the exact content of the cure will be, this is
the sole decision of the doctor, whereas it is on the guest
to put a "veto" if treatments suggested are contradictory
to the personal state of mind or a certain liking or disliking.
First-Timer ?
Aytour is always present to consult with regards to particular
resorts or treatments, so - in other words - you are not alone.
If an ayurvedic cure is be tried out for the first time, it
is very advisable to make use of the fluent and uncomplicated
infrastructure of Sri Lanka, Khor Fakkan (Dubai) or Port Salvi

quite advisable,. however
The initial understanding is much better under the intense
guiding of e.g. the staff in Sri Lankan Resorts.

due to its quite sophisticated in-house technique, aytour
is able to work out flight arrangements worldwide within minutes.
